IL PADRINO COFFEE

Tired of Starbucks? Drop by Unit 1 Mt. Sinai Heights Bldg. 71-B Commonwealth Avenue, East Fairview Park, Quezon City. Il Padrino means The Godfather in Italian.  This is owned by the Pangwis opened in 2009.

Inside the cozy coffee shop

 Photo murals taken from

 the family’s travel to Italy

 adorned the walls.

There is an ample space for

clients and has a place in the

2nd floor  for  small gatherings.

Clubhouse Sandwich – generous serving and served with potato wedges . Yum!

Carbonara – Italian style w/ asparagus.  This is good. Never compromising the authenticity of how it should be done.

Black Forest Cake – to end the wonderful meal …. and goes well with coffee. Their coffee beans came from  Sagada.  Didn’t order

Trivia: Black Forest cake consists of several layers of chocolate cake, with whipped cream and cherries between each layer. Then the cake is decorated with additional whipped cream, maraschino cherries, and chocolate shavings. In some European traditions sour cherries are used both between the layers and for decorating the top.

Traditionally, Kirschwasser (a clear liquor distilled from tart cherries-where it has been named after) is added to the cake, although other liquors are also used (such as rum, which is common in Austrian recipes).  In the United States, Black Forest cake is most often prepared without alcohol.

There are still more appetizing food in their menu … I hope to come back soon .
